At Canwest Art Gallery on the Lake, we understand the challenges that new artists face in gaining exposure and making their first sales. That’s why we’re committed to supporting budding Canadian talent through our “Hang With Us” program. Here’s how we can help you successfully launch your art career.

Program Highlights

Affordable Entry with a Simple “Hang Fee”.
For just $150 + GST, we’ll display your artwork in our gallery for a 90-day period, giving it the opportunity to sell. Before acceptance, we’ll preview your art and mutually agree on a realistic selling price. This fee covers artwork up to a maximum width of 95 cm.

Fee Refund for Successful Sales.
If your artwork sells within the 90-day window, we’ll refund the $150 hang fee and include it as part of your sales earnings.

For example: Artwork sells for $500. Gallery commission: 50% ($250). You receive $250 plus the $150 hang fee refund, for a total of $400.

Comprehensive Promotion During the Display Period.
While your artwork is displayed, we’ll provide:

* Gallery exposure with a focus on telling your unique story.
* A listing in our e-store.
* A feature in our Gallery Newsletter.
* Local promotional opportunities to connect with the community.

Option to Extend Display Time.
after the initial 90 days, you can choose to:

* Remove your artwork from the gallery.
* Pay a second hang fee to extend the display for an additional 90 days. If mutually extended, the gallery retains this fee, if the sale takes longer than 90 days.
