Michael Hamilton-Clark retired from his career as a civil engineer in 2005 and since then has been designing and turning wood-based jewellery, bowls and decorative plates. He works at his Albery Studio in Chilliwack, named for his three grandsons Alex, Ben and Ryan. Michael’s pieces are sold through local specialty shops, exhibitions and craft shows. He strives for functionality and flow in his designs so as to impart a sense of usefulness and aesthetics. He enjoys working with different woods, always seeking to optimize their durability, grain patterns, textures and colours. Michael is a member of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild and an exhibiting member of the Craft Council of British Columbia.
