Born and raised in Burnaby B.C., Robert’s early interest in Art continued throughout high school. He completed the two year Fine Arts program at Douglas College in 1977. It is here that his desire to explore clay as a medium became his focus. In 1980, Robert graduated from Emily Carr Art and Design with a Ceramics Major. The following twenty six years, Robert produced and sold his work to local markets from his studio in Coquitlam. He instructed pottery classes at Place Des Arts in Maillardville for over 13 years. Robert and his wife Kim moved to Mission in 2005, where he continues to make pottery his livelihood. His work is exhibited and sold from his home studio and local Gift Shops and Galleries.
His pottery is high fired stoneware in a reduction gas kiln. It is food safe, oven proof, microwavable and dishwasher safe.
